Always wanted to try hand embroidery? In this small, relaxed class for complete beginners, you'll start stitching a floral pattern designed by The Threaded Shed. Everything you need is supplied, so just bring yourself. We'll go step by step, together.
What you'll learn
- How to set up your hoop and get your fabric drum-tight
- How to separate embroidery floss, thread your needle, and start and finish a thread neatly
- The basic embroidery stitches used in the pattern, and when to use each one
- How to follow a pattern and stitch guide, so you can keep stitching on your own
What's included
- A beginner floral pattern designed by The Threaded Shed, pre-printed on fabric
- All the DMC embroidery thread you need to complete the pattern
- An embroidery needle, a wooden hoop and a pair of embroidery scissors
- A stitch guide to take home
- Instruction in a small group of no more than 8
What to bring
Just yourself. If you use reading glasses for close work, bring them along. Everything is yours to keep.
What comes next
You'll get your hoop well underway in Class 1. In Class 2 ($20, no materials needed) we finish the pattern together and learn how to back your hoop so it's neat and ready to hang. You can also finish at home with the stitch guide.
